General Requirements For The Competence Of Testing And Calibration Laboratories.

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is an international Standard that comprises of accreditation conditions of institutions that want to prepare certificates of all kind of test and calibration applicants. ISO/IEC 17025 standard specifies the conditions that provide certification institutions applicants reliable, consistent and comparable such as ISO/IEC 17021, ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation standards.

ISO/IEC 17025 standard’s aim is to provide the same result. It does not matter whenever, wherever any test or calibration is done or whoever is done that.

ISO/IEC 17025 standard can be applied by all institutions that service examination or calibration. These institutions comprise of first, second and third party laboratories or the laboratories that give service of test or calibration as a part of examination or product certification issues.

First Party Laboratories: Laboratories of Supplier
Second Party Laboratories: Laboratories of Customer
Third Party Laboratories: Laboratories of Substantive

ISO/IEC 17025 standard can be applied to all laboratories without looking the scope of test or calibration activities and personel number. Laboratory does not work for activities that are in this standard, related articles are not applied about sampling, design and improvement of new methods.

It enables that certification programmes that are applied by accreditated, examined institutions can be agreeable both at the national and international level.

Accreditation means stability, consistency, trust and voluntariness. It means authorisation. It gives the right of use of institution’s own logo and authority.

It needs to found the management system, document and apply within the frame of general conditions where the certification institution candidates can be examined before the application to accreditate accroding to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard.
